Spring Green Garden Slippers

So,

I've been taken under and over by the idea of a blog. I apologise. Here's something I hope will make you forgive me:

I made these tiny green garden shoes for ages 0-12 months in a few of my epidemiology lectures last week.

I followed a lovely little pattern I found through Ravelry:

http://crochet.about.com/od/babypatterns/a/tootsie-wraps-crochet-baby-booties.htm

to which I added a tiny crochet flower and bow-tie gather at the back in yellow.

The flower - so simple. Please give it a try. All you need is:
4.0mm crochet hook
A really very small scrap of dk or worsted weight yarn
4 minutes of time!

Starting loop: Ch 4, join with sl to first chain.
Round A: *ch 3 into starting loop, 2 dc, sl into starting loop* 5 times. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Or,

Make a 3 petal-3 loop version by substituting Round A (above) with:
Round B: *ch 3 into starting loop, 2 dc, sl into starting loop* 3 times. *Ch 6, sl into starting loop* 3 times. Fasten off and weave in ends

I've made a bunch of these tiny flowers to sell as part of a (mostly cake based) charity fundraiser that hopefully will happen next Friday in aid of the Japan Tsunami and Earthquake disaster. They'll sell for only a few pence each but, I guess, every little does help.

If you'd like to help, please contact me.

Thanks for reading the first-ever,

Sophiexxxx
